Syd hails from Marietta, Georgia and moved to Los Angeles in 2007, to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts after graduating High School early with her mom and two sisters. Syd fell in love with acting at the age of twelve when she performed in the stage production of Cinderella.
Syd’s talents are multi-dimensional as she is an actress, comedienne, writer, producer, YouTube creator – and in 2014 formed her own production company. Syd is best known for her 2013 breakout role in the Seth Rogan apocalyptic horror comedy, “This Is The End.” Syd has produced, directed, written and acted in over 30 original sketches for her YouTube Channel, which have been featured on sites such as:
Huffington Post, College Humor, Nerdist, Cosmopolitan, MTV’s Guy Code, Sports Illustrated, Pop Trigger, The Chive, Break.com, as well as many other online platforms. Syd is very proud to have had her sketches featured on the homepage of Will Farrell’s comedy platform, “Funny or Die,” and her fan favorite video “How To Take A Slutty Selfie” was ranked as one of Top 25 videos of 2013, on the Funny or Die Community Page. Between Syd’s original sketch content and collaborations with other influencers, she has amassed over 60 million online views. Syd is currently signed with Maker Studios as her Multi-Channel Network.
Syd has performed on network TV shows such as Tosh.O on Comedy Central, Men At Work on TBS, and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno portraying Bristol Palin, as well as movies on the SYFY Channel, “Piranhaconda” with Michael Madsen and Rachel Hunter, and “Super Shark” with John Schneider. Syd has also acted in feature films such as Synergy Pictures’ romantic comedy “The Love Section” with Mekhi Pfeifer, and “Mining For Ruby” with Billy Zane and Mischa Barton. Syd’s current film projects include the title role of “Stacy” in the upcoming zom-com movie “Night Of The Living Deb,” which she also executive produced and is excited to announce its release via iTunes and Amazon on September 6th. Syd also has a supporting role in “Laid In America,” a teen comedy written and produced by Peter Vass and Sam Milman of Bad Weather Films, that stars YouTube sensations KSI and Caspar Lee, and is being released digitally by Universal on September 26, 2016.
Syd has performed stand up comedy at The Comedy Store, The Improv and Flappers Comedy Club. While Syd’s main focus is on acting, writing, and creating online content, she continues performing stand up comedy when her schedule allows. Syd made her Los Angeles Theatre debut co-starring in “Vampire Masquerade” at the Next Stage Theatre in Hollywood, as well as choreographing a dance sequence in the production.
Syd started her own production company in 2014 - Beyond My Wildest Dreams Productions, LLC, which produced her original scripted Youtube Web Series, “Fab Life Teresa XO,” as well as a new dramatic series called, “Reckless Juliets,” which is currently in production. Beyond My Wildest Dreams Productions is a female driven company that strives to provide more opportunities for women in all facets of the entertainment industry.
Syd has studied with esteemed acting coaches such as Lesly Kahn, Margie Haber, Ivana Chubbuck, Vincent Chase, and has taken Improv classes at Second City, UCB and The Groundlings. While at Second City, Syd was also enrolled in the prestigious Second City writing program. Syd has also had voice training from Suzanne Kiechle and Vanessa Bryan, dialect training from Denise Woods and voice-over training from Nancy Wolfson.
Syd’s hobbies include ballroom dancing, salsa and tango. Syd is also an avid belly dancer and loves practicing yoga and daily meditation. Syd was a former competition cheerleader in Georgia as a teen, and won a national championship on ESPN, so she has advanced gymnastic and trampoline skills. Syd loves to sing and dance and was offered a record deal in Nashville at the age of 14. She also modeled for various print campaigns while a teenager.
Some of Syd’s modeling work has been featured in Maxim, FHM, Ask Men, Sports Illustrated, Malibu Magazine and Viva Glam Magazine. Syd was named Ask Men’s Top 99 Crush List of 2016 and Playboy’s Top 10 Hottest YouTuber’s of 2015.
